Brook Road Academy

Brook Road Academy is a nontraditional, college-prep middle and high school located on the St. Joseph’s Villa campus. This school offers classes in all major subject areas, as well as many electives. Most school graduates go on to attend institutions of higher learning.

Several factors make Brook Road Academy a “nontraditional” school. Most important, the school is intentionally small; total school enrollment for grades 7 through 12 is limited to 50 students. As a result, Brook Road Academy has a relaxed, “family” atmosphere; everyone is called by their first name, dress is casual, and many classrooms also have armchairs or sofas.

There is no “typical student” at Brook Road Academy; all students are treated as the unique people they are. The common factor is that each student does well in a smaller environment where strong personal relationships with the faculty bring out the best work in the student.

Approximately 70 percent of the school’s enrollment is “private pay”: parents pay tuition for their children to attend the school. The other third of the student body is placed in the school by school system placing agents.
