Our Services
Services for At-Risk Youth
St. Joseph’s Villa provides educational and after-school programs to assist at-risk children in overcoming negative behaviors and learning positive ways of managing their lives. Our mission is to give these children the tools and skills they need to transition back into society and to reach their full potential. Our programs include:

Dooley School and Dooley Elementary School – Academic and behavioral education, including transition services, for children with learning disabilities and emotional disturbances.

Dooley Center for Alternative Education – Academic and behavioral education, with an increased emphasis on transition services for high school students on long-term suspensions (six months to a year) who will return to their local school system.

Project Turnaround – Therapeutic and academic educational support for students serving suspensions from local school systems.

Therapeutic Day Treatment Services – An after-school program which provides therapies to improve the lives of children with behavioral disorders who also have a diagnosed mental illness.

Intensive In-Home Support - Providing in-home support to families which include children with behavioral disorders.
- Career and Transition Services (CATS) - Providing comprehensive workforce development training for students with emotional, behavioral, developmental or intellectual disabilities.

During the 2007/08 school year, students at the Dooley Center for Alternative Education explored the relationship between poverty, crime, substance abuse and unemployment. At the end of the school year, the students wrote and produced a short film to describe their thoughts. You can watch the film by clicking the link below.
